After nearly six weeks of gas prices going up, the price for a gallon of gas has gone down for the second week in a row; both nationally and in Maine.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine is now at $2.394, which is down from last weeks Maine average of $2.406. The current National average for a gallon of gas is $2.304, which is down from last weeks national average of $2.343.

Locally, the lowest price for gas we could find in Augusta is at the KENOCO station at 336 Western Ave, which is selling  gas for $2.34 a gallon, and in Waterville, the Irving Station at 445 Kennedy Memorial Drive, which also is selling gas at $2.34 a gallon.
