Gas prices have dropped or stayed stable across northern New England, but they may be on the rise again soon.

Among the three states, the price-tracking website GasBuddy.com says gasoline prices are lowest in New Hampshire, where the average price fell half a penny per gallon last week to $1.68.

In Vermont, the average price was $1.84, down nearly 3 cents from the week before. The price in Maine stayed the same at $1.77 per gallon.

The national average is $1.74, which increased 3.7 cents in the last week. The national average has dropped 6.5 cents per gallon in the last month and is 65.1 cents per gallon lower than one year ago.

Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, says the eight-month decline in gas prices has ended.(AP)
