Donia Madison "Maddy" Grayless passed away exactly 2 weeks after she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).  She was 8 years old and a healthy little girl.  During Spring Break, she injured herself on the playground.  As the weeks progressed, Maddy didn't appear to be healing from the injury.  Then, she developed a fever and a severe bloody nose. It was then that doctors discovered the true horror of Maddy's condition and that her cancer had already spread throughout her little body.

Maddy wanted to make a difference.  Friends of the family created a facebook page: Maddy's Mighty Minions.  Reaching out to everyone to spread Maddy's wish and share acts of kindness.  I've been teaching this lesson to my kids for many years.  So, it is with great pleasure that I share Maddy's story and encourage all of you to do the same.

Performing an act of kindness doesn't take a lot of effort.  Whether it's picking up trash on the side of the road, paying for someone's toll, offering to carry someone's grocery bags...the possibilities are endless.  You can find some great unique suggestions on my favorite website: Pinterest.
