If you decide to travel to Miami to see the Patriots take on the Dolphins on Sunday, January 1st, the team wants you know they are doing everything they can to squelch the ‘Zika virus.

A Zika hot zone is Miami Beach and although the Dolphins don’t play there they are only 15 miles away at Miami gardens. All month, the Dolphins have been treating the 265 acres of property around the stadium, including parking lots, as a precaution, and in the interest of fan safety.

The Dolphins have treated drainage areas, standing water, retention areas and other areas where it is determined mosquitos may harbor. The treatments include the use of backpack foggers every two weeks and will include treatments two days before events.
