Grand Central is 100 Years Old + Celebrating

It is an iconic New York City landmark. Even if you have never been there in person, you probably have seen it in movies and TV, Grand Central Station. Grand Central Station is celebrating its centennial. 

Grand Central was once in danger of being demolished to make way for an office tower. But thanks to the efforts of many, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the building was saved and declared a landmark. New York is celebrating their landmark 100th birthday with speeches and a brass band.

Grand Central Station is one of the places I have visited in NYC. I did not plan it, it just sort of happened. Glad I did visit. It is a beautiful, classic building and it has been redeveloped no only as a transportation hub in the city, but there is lots of good food and shopping there, as well. After all, what is a visit to NYC without some good food and shopping?
