The latest causality of a tight economy and a shrinking brick and motor presence is the children's clothing retailer Gymboree.  They are expected to file for bankruptcy protection and  plans to close all 900 of it's remaining stores as early as this week, including one at the Maine Mall in South Portland according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The company based in San Francisco is going to file for bankruptcy marking the second time in 2 years and this time liquidation is emanate. The company also has two other store brands,Janie and Jack, and Crazy 8 which has locations in New Hampshire but not in Maine will also be closed unless there is a buyer that steps up..
