Instead of the usual push of current songs from new albums, today’s artists will honor the history of country music. Country Music Association board member and songwriter Shane McAnally says the 50th annual CMA Awards should be about more than the latest singles. Few specific details about the Nov. 2 ABC broadcast have been revealed.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill‘s epic week continued Wednesday morning (Oct. 5) when they received their stars on the Music City Walk of Fame. The silver stars are housed in cement at Walk of Fame Park in Nashville. Country legend Reba McEntire was also on hand for the special occasion, as she was responsible for presenting the stars to Tim and Faith. They received individual stars but right next to each other.

Jana Kramer shocked fans when she revealed that her first husband went to prison after trying to kill her, and now she’s speaking out about why she stayed with him in an effort to help other women in that position. Kramer revealed that her first husband, Michael Gambino, used to routinely beat her, and eventually went to prison after choking her into unconsciousness in 2005. He was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to six years, and eventually committed suicide two years after his 2010 release. Kramer says that like so many other abused wives, she stayed in the relationship out of fear and shame.
