Junior hockey is coming back to the Twin Cities. The Lewiston Maineiacs folded after the 2010-11 season and now the The Colisee in Lewiston will have a new team, starting next season.

Monday (Dec. 15) The New Hampshire Fighting Spirit announced that they will be relocating to Lewiston. The team will be known as the L-A Fighting Spirit. They will play in the North American 3 Eastern Hockey League.

The Androscoggin Bank Colisee, rink owner Jim Cain at a press conference told the Sun/Journal, "This is really important to us, both for purposes of operating this building financially and otherwise...We found a solid tenant and a very solid league." The team signed a five-year agreement.
