Hostess In Talks To Sell Bread Brands

According to the Wall Street Journal, Hostess brands Inc. could be announcing as early next week that Flowers Foods and Bimbo are in discussions to acquire the Hostess bread brands, which include Wonder Bread and Nature's Pride.

Hostess is in the process of a bankruptcy-court liquidation of it's assets, which includes selling it's iconic brands, like Twinkies, Wonder Bread, along with it's 33 bakeries and other operations, including a plant in Biddeford, Maine.

Bimbo brands include Arnold breads, Thomas' English Muffins and Entenmann's Cakes. Flowers Foods Inc.'s brands include Nature's Own Breads and Tastykake snacks.

There's no word of what this would mean to the plant in Biddeford and it's former 400 employees.
