As much as the anticipation built for Christmas 2014, it sure seemed to be over in a blink of an eye. My only immediate family that are left are my niece and her Dad. He lives in Dunstable, Massachusetts, which is just over the state line from Nashua, New Hampshire. Last year and this year, I boarded the Amtrak Downeaster in Brunswick and they pick me up in Haverill, Massachusetts.

It does make for a very long day but being with family is way too important to me.

I left Augusta around 5:45 a.m. Christmas Day and got on the train in Brunswick at 7:05 a.m., the return trip from Massachusetts started at 8:18 p.m. and by the time I pulled into my driveway it was around 11:45 p.m. Yes, a long day but so worth it.

My Christmas started with the train ride, and I want to say how much I love taking the train! If you have never taken the train before, I highly recommend it!

Then it's a traditional Christmas, sharing stories of the past year, opening gifts, then the Christmas dinner. Then after eating we watch 'Christmas Story' and 'Christmas Vacation' and then it was time to head back to board the train.

This was the first Christmas since my sister Mary had past away in 2010, that my brother-in-law and niece seemed to talk of memories of her without the pain in there voices.

So another Christmas has come and gone, I'd love to hear about your Christmas. Leave us a comment of how you spent it.
