Carmen is a very special cat. She is a two year old long-haired grey beauty who loves basking in the sun. She’s independent but still likes to snuggle. She is very clean, but being a long-haired cat, she will still need some grooming. According to the HSWA, she appears that to have some nerve damage at base of her spine, causing her some problems in the litter box. She is prone to constipation and needs to be fed wet canned food every day. Look at that face, looks like she is about to drift off for a nap.  Carmen is looking for her fur-ever home. Her adoption fee is only $100 AND that includes spay/neutering, all shots, microchip.

There are a number of animal organizations in Maine who are making it their mission to help animals find there forever homes.  You can find a county by county list or Petfinder.com is how I found my ShadowDog. Here is the list of some local shelters for central Maine that I know of, there is Humane Society Waterville Area and the Kennebec Valley Humane Society. We also have P.A.L.S. No Kill Cat Shelter, the Coastal Humane Society, the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. There are also the hardworking and wonderful people at Maine Greyhound Placement Service. There is also the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and Humane Society, the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County and Humane Society of Somerset County. No matter where they come from, in my opinion, animals that come to our lives from shelters and rescue organizations are the best!
