As Hurricane Issac makes landfall in Louisana seven years after Hurricane Katrina devasted that area, it was one year ago that Tropical Storm Irene made it's way through New England. I moved to Augusta seven years ago, and this was the first major tropical storm that I experienced while living in my mobile home. It was rocking! No major damage, some tree limbs went down, some leaking in the roof but overall nothing like the folks in Louisana and the Gulf Coast are going through.

Vermont and New York were hit hard from Irene and the Maine Army National Guard answered the call. Helping them rebuild roads and the infrastructure. Here's hoping the residents along the Gulf Coast weather the storm and Issac will bring much needed rain to parts of the midwest. You can track Issac's progression here.
