Is Your NCAA Bracket a Bust Yet?
So how is your NCAA bracket going? If it’s anything like mine you won’t win the million dollars. The fact is nobody will win the million dollars.
One guy in Ohio had a perfect bracket until he picked Ohio State to upset Arizona, but the Buckeyes lost. Of the 11 to 12 million brackets that have been filled-out, there are only 14 people that have the correct Sweet Sixteen.
The one that really killed my bracket, and I suspect a lot of brackets, was the loss of number one seed Villanova. When ‘Nova’ lost to North Carolina State 71-68, Sweet Sixteen brackets took a hit. I had Villanova in the final sixteen.
In fact, I had the Wild Cats beating Louisville and making it to the Elite Eight. Another problem I have in the East bracket is Michigan St. beating Virginia because I had Virginia moving onto the Elite Eight, and I had Villanova beating Virginia to reach the final four. My bracket in the East is a complete bust.
My final ‘two’ are still intact. I have Kentucky facing Gonzaga in the Championship game with Kentucky winning it all and remaining undefeated. It's like a consolation prize if I'm right.
