James Bond’s Two-Part Movie Plot Is a No Go, Says Daniel Craig

Earlier this week we learned some potentially huge James Bond news. A report circulated that ‘Skyfall‘ screenwriter John Logan (who we know is returning for the series’ next installment) had secretly plotted a two-part plot line for ‘Bond 24′ and ’25,’ which would be a rather major turn of events. Today, however, we’re learning from 007 himself not to believe the hype.

In an interview with German site Filmstarts, Daniel Craig denied the notion of a two-parter:

No, I don’t know where that’s come from. It’s impossible to do a two-parter, I heard that someone was talking about that we’re doing a two-parter, but that’s the first I’ve heard about it. We can only do them one at a time, they take six months to shoot. You can’t write one movie thinking about the next. All we’re trying to do is get the next one sorted out and it’ll stand on its own and if I’m able I’ll do another one after that.”

Deadline is usually a reliable site; actually it’s often the “go to” source for breaking Hollywood news. Did they get it wrong this time, or is Craig playing it cool? (Wouldn’t be the first time.) It remains to be seen, but they don’t have very long to plot, as the next Bond film is already scheduled to come out in late 2014.

The question is, would you want Jame Bond to embark on a two-part journey? Let us know in the comments below.
