Jerry Remy announced on Twitter on Monday that he will be returning to the NESN broadcast booth for the 2014 baseball season. You can follow Jerry Remy on Twitter @RemDawg. Jerry Remy has been through a lot over the past few years.He took a leave of absence last year after his son was charged with murder. His future with NESN was uncertain until he made the announcement on Monday. This season will mark his 27th season broadcasting Boston baseball games.

Remy spoke with Boston television station WBZ-TV and reporter Jonathan Ellis about his decision to return to television. Saying that 'A lot went through my mind', adding that 'there was a period in November, December that I was positive that I was not going to come back.'

Remy added that he understands that not everyone will be happy he's back. Saying that, 'I am a father of a son that is accused of murder.'

Remy has also missed time away from the broadcast booth battling lung cancer and also dealing with depression.
