Jessie White, a 99 year old women in Maine, finally graduated from college. She received her diploma from Beal College 75 years after graduating. She said it now completes her life.

In 1939, Jessie who had polio as a child, walked to school every day on crutches. She was in school to study stenography and bookkeeping. She received $500 from her uncle to attend college but a $5 transcript fee kept her from getting her diploma. A $5 fee doesn’t seem like much, but Jessie did not have the money. Recently Maine’s Beal College President Alan Stehl paid the $5 transcript fee and handed Jessie White her long overdue diploma.
