With the upcoming Townsquare Media Job Fair (presented by Home Health and Healing), I want to take this opportunity to teach you how to make it work for you!  Many people attend job fairs.  If you are looking for a job, you want to successfully stand out from everyone else.  Here are some tips from ehow.com:

Get a list of all the employers that will be attending the job fair.  Spend some time researching the companies and take note of the ones you particularly have in mind to talk to.  Interviewers will be impressed if you can speak intelligently about their organization.  Prepare a 30-second speech highlighting your skills, strengths and the value you bring to an employer.

At the fair, get there early.  You will be able to speak to interviewers when they are still fresh, before you blend in with all the others.  Bring many copies of a current resume.  Dress for success.  Image and first impressions are everything.  Follow your plan and talk to the preferred employers first.  Ask as many questions as  you can without wearing out your welcome.  Finish by stating your interest in the company and be sure you get a business card so that you can follow-up with them.
After the fair, follow-up with the companies of interest.  Write a letter to the person you spoke with mentioning your interest in the company and reiterating your strengths.  If  possible, include something that might help them remember who you were at the fair.  Include another copy of your resume.

Join us for the Townsquare Media Job Fair on September 25th from 1pm-6pm at the Augusta Armory.
