Julia Clukey Falls Short in World Cup Competition

Augusta’s Julia Clukey finished fourth in the second and final Norton USA Luge Seeding Race at Park City, Utah.

She falls one spot short of qualifying for the U.S. team in World Cup competition in Austria later this month. Clukey was edged out by 20 year old Raychel Germaine of Georgia. Germanie finished third in both Park City seeding races and first in seeding a week earlier at Lake Placid, New York. Clukey finished fourth in both races.

Julia Clukey never gave up though. She posted the second best final run, faster than Germaine, but it wasn’t enough to overtake her total race time or total seeding points.
