Where is summer going? Time for the July 4th celebrations here in Maine. Here's a one-stop place to map out your families July 4th celebrations.

 

Parade at 10 a.m. Events all day at Fort Halifax Park. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

 

Eastern Promenade Park, Eastern Promenade Portland, ME

The 4th of July Festival in Portland is the Stars and Stripes Spectacular. A patriotic pops concert starts at 7:40 p.m. with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and special guest artist Melissa Manchester. The evening culminates with dazzling pyrotechnics, as fireworks arch over Casco Bay from Portland's East End Promenade at 9:20 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. Email info@july4thportland.org. Jul 4, 2016 - Jul 4, 2016 Norcross Point Winthrop, ME

Thousands of folks visit Winthrop each year for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display at the south end of Maranacook Lake.
Time: 9 p.m.

 

Various locations Belgrade Lakes, ME

A small town celebration runs from from sunrise to well into the evening. Music, wide variety of foods, kids games, specials throughout the Belgrade Lakes Village shops, frog jumping contest and ending the day with a fireworks display over Long Pond at dusk.
Time: Dusk; around 9:15 to 9:30 p.m.

 

Town Park Carrabassett Valley, ME

The pool will be open at noon and there will be activities for the kids from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also a band from 4 p.m. until the evening. Fireworks begin about 9:15 p.m. at the Carrabassett Valley Airport across from Ayottes Store on Route 27.
Time: Noon-10 p.m.

 

Jul 4, 2016 - Jul 4, 2016 Waterfront Boothbay Harbor, ME

Fireworks will be shot over the harbor from a barge near McFarland Island.
Time: 9 p.m.

 

Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre, Atlantic Avenue Camden, ME

Enjoy free Independence Day performances by Mes Amis (acoustic gypsy jazz) at 2 p.m., Casco Bay Wind Symphony (popular favorites) at 3:30 p.m., Roosevelt Dime (rhythm and blues) at 5 p.m., and David Dodson and The Lowdown featuring Jon and Rachel Nicolas (folk, rock, blues and country) at 7:45 p.m. Rain venue is Camden Opera House. Spectacular fireworks will be shot over the harbor at 9 p.m.

Parade is on Main Street; most other events at L.L. Bean’s Discovery Park, Morse Street Freeport, ME

Independence Day in Freeport is the kick-off day for L.L. Bean's annual Summer in the Park celebration. July 4 opens with a road race & fun run at 7:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. There is a parade on Main Street, starting at 10 a.m. A free concert by David Mallett & The Mallett Brothers Band begins at 7:30 p.m. in L.L. Bean Discovery Park on Morse Street. Fireworks start about 9 p.m.

Augusta Mill Park, 32 Northern Avenue Augusta, ME

The two-week Whatever Family Festival closes with a huge party on July 4 at Mill Park. A parade steps off from the State Capitol at 4 p.m. Fireworks will be launched around 9 p.m. over Mill Park.

Downtown Bath and waterfront and Library Park Bath, ME

Join the city of Bath for a four-day festival including live music on two stages, a carnival on the waterfront, a Made in Maine Craft Show and Art in the Park, Kids Day, a fireman's muster, an antique car show, the biggest 4th of July Parade in Maine, a Kennebec River Boat Parade, and a fireworks finale on July 5 at 9:15 p.m. over the Kennebec River. Rangeley Lake State Park Rangeley, ME

Festivities will start at 11 a.m. following the Children’s Parade at 10 a.m. and the Duck Race on Haley Pond at 10:30 a.m. Visitors will enjoy food, live entertainment, games, special activities for kids, demonstrations and more. An Independence Day chicken barbecue will be served at the Church of the Good Shepherd from 5 to 7 p.m. . Joe Montimurro and friends will perform around 6:30 p.m., ending with fireworks at dusk.

Brewer Auditorium and Bangor Waterfront Bangor, ME

The day gets underway with a pancake breakfast at the Brewer Auditorium 318 Wilson Street, from 6 to 10 a.m. The annual July Fourth parade starts at 11 a.m. and travel from Brewer and across the Penobscot River to Bangor. Festivities, including a free concert, continue on the Bangor Waterfront from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at about 9:30 p.m. over the Penobscot River.

 

Downtown Thomaston, ME

This old-fashioned Independence Day celebration opens with a pancake breakfast at the Masonic Hall, followed by a large parade at 11 a.m., chicken barbecue, children’s games, music, craft tent, food vendors, and a huge fireworks display! The parade theme for 2016 is "Hometown Proud — Hometown Talent!" Check event website for detailed schedule.
