Justin Timberlake opened up the 2017 Academy Awards with a live performance of his Oscar-nominated hit, "Can't Stop the Feeling," before rousing the star-studded crowd up with a rendition of Bill Withers' "Lovely Day."

"Can't Stop the Feeling" from the animated film Trolls is nominated for Best Original Song along with "Audition" and "City of Stars" from La La Land, "The Empty Chair" from Jim: The James Foley Story, and "How Far I'll Go" from Moana.

Timberlake's swagger-filled appearance at the Oscars caps off an incredible year for the 36-year-old entertainer. "Can't Stop the Feeling" ended up becoming the best-selling single of 2016 with nearly 2.5 million copies sold. The song also became his fifth hit to hit No. 1 on top 40 radio charts in the US.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8:30 PM EST. The 2017 Academy Award nominees were announced on January 24.
