Kacey Musgraves became the first country artist to perform at the GLAAD Media Awards in New York on Saturday (May 3), and her anthem 'Follow Your Arrow' was the perfect piece to cheer on everyone celebrating at the 25th annual event.

Musgraves was introduced by openly gay country singer Chely Wright. The gay rights activist was nominated for a GLAAD Award in 2013 and performed at the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco in 2010.

The 'Keep It to Yourself' hitmaker introduced her song by saying, "I am so proud to be here representing country music, and I just want to 'cheers' everybody in this room that follows their arrow."

Wearing a short, dark pink, fringed dress, Musgraves performed 'Follow Your Arrow' to a packed room, and the end of her song led to a standing ovation by the audience, clearly proud to be following their own arrows.

'Follow Your Arrow' is off Musgraves' album 'Same Trailer Different Park' which won Best Country Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
