Legendary country star Kenny Rogers will chronicle his  more than 50 years in entertainment in an upcoming autobiography. Rogers will release 'Luck or Something Like It' tomorrow (Oct. 2) through William Morrow.

The book will cover the entire spectrum of the multi-faceted entertainer's lifelong journey through music, movies and television, from his rock roots with the First Edition and early hits like 'Just Dropped In (to See What Condition My Condition Was In)' to later country hits like 'Lady,' 'Islands in the Stream' and 'The Gambler.'

A press release describes the book: "Exploring the struggles of his long road, his story begins simply:  growing up in Depression-era Texas, living in the projects, surviving in poverty, and listening to his mother, who always had just the right piece of wisdom . . . Rogers recounts his early years and musical career, sharing stories about the friendships that have meant the most to him, from Dottie West to Lionel Richie to Dolly Parton."

Rogers will support the book's release with a slew of media appearances and select book signings. Look for him on 'The View,' 'Good Morning America' and 'The Colbert Report.' Other appearances are listed on his official website.
