The Iowa State Fair is held in Des Moines, Iowa each year in August and attracts a million visitors.  This year is also the 25th anniversary of the film ‘Field of Dreams’ starring Kevin Costner and the fair paid homage.

The movie was filmed in Iowa and has been considered one of the great films of all time. This year’s Iowa State Fair has made a butter sculpture of Kevin Costner and put it on display next to the famous ‘butter cow’ at the fair. The display is in a building that is kept at 40 degrees so the butter won’t melt and the ‘butter cow’ has attracted long lines at the fair since 1911. (not the original cow all those years) This year the ‘butter’ Kevin Costner has taken his place in the display.
