Larry the Lobster Doesn’t Make It to Retirement
Larry the Lobster gained fame after it was spared from a boiling pot in Florida and for being a decades old 15 pound lobster.
He was being transported from Florida to Maine where he was to be put in the water to live-out the rest of his life. Larry didn’t survive the trip and died. It's not clear what killed the lobster. It was packed in a Styrofoam clamshell with seaweed and frozen gel packs.
The staff at the aquarium in West Boothbay Harbor unpacked the lobster and found it dead on Wednesday.
