Gov. Paul LePage says fellow Republican Susan Collins is "done in Maine" after the senator failed to back Donald Trump in his bid to take the presidency.

The Portland Press Herald reports LePage also accused Collins of wanting to pursue a position in the Democratic administration of Hillary Clinton had Clinton won the election.

Annie Clark, a spokeswoman for Collins, says the senator's "goose not only hasn't been cooked, it hasn't even been plucked yet." She also says Collins was "absolutely not" hoping to work for Clinton, and did not vote for her.

Collins, who holds one of Maine's highest voter approval ratings among elected officials, saw popularity dwindle after speaking out against Trump.
