I was listening to John Denver music this weekend and started to remember what a great artist he was.  From the early 70’s through the late 80s’, he had million selling records, starred in successful movies and hosted numerous T.V. specials.

Some of his biggest selling albums were: 'Poems, Prayers & Promises' in 1971 which contained songs like 'My Sweet Lady', 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' and 'Sunshine on My Shoulders'.

In 1972, 'Rocky Mountain High' was another huge seller for Denver containing the title track and 1974’s 'Back Home Again' featured 'Thank God I’m a Country Boy' and 'Annie’s Song'.

In 1975, John Denver won The Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year award.

In 1977, John Denver starred in his first movie 'Oh, God!', but didn’t make a big splash on the big screen for another 3 or 4 years.

John Denver died in a plane crash piloting his own plane on October 12, 1997, over Monterey Bay, California.
