Here's a tie-in to Star Wars that is, to say the least, unusual. In Australia, doctors claim that listening to the Star Wars soundtrack, leads to better colonoscopies.

They say the rate of detection of polyps detected when Star Wars music was playing was 60%, with pop music playing it was only 35%. This suggests doctors listening to the theme music are more likely to detect bowel cancer.

This discovery came to light while investigating the value of music as an aid to doctors in the operating room. The finding says listening to Star Wars will lead to better quality outcomes for patients. It added: ‘As Star Wars fans, we must suspect that the force was also involved, enhancing our force-sensitive abilities to detect polyps.

May the Force of the Endoscopes be with you.
