‘Lonely Planet’ Names Northern Maine as a Top 10 Travel Destination

It’s a good week for the more northern part of the Pine Tree State. Earlier this week Bangor was named one of the top ten best winter cities, now, 'Lonely Planet' named northern Maine as one of the top ten travel destinations in the country for 2012.

'Lonely Planet' liked the areas hiking, biking, rafting, wildlife-watching and all over northern Maine goodness.  'Lonely Planet' pointed out that Maine is a lot more than lobster rolls and light houses (very true) and said Baxter State Park, Mt. Katahdin, Moosehead Lake and Aroostook County are all must-see locations.
