Coming up on July 16th, the Old Hallowell Day Parade will kick off at 10am.  This is, personally, MY favorite parade!  I just finished signing up the 'Conquer Chiari' float in the parade, so make sure you look for us!  Or, put on your purple and join us.  If you know someone with chiari or if you are a fellow chiarian...we want you with us!

We had such a HUGE success in the Winslow 4th of July Parade!  Pictures of our float have been popping up all over Facebook.  Even folks from Boston spotted us.

Chiarians have reached out to us saying 'I've never met anyone with Chiari, I thought I was alone'.  Well, you're not alone!!  Spreading awareness about Chiari Malformation to the public and medical community is vitally important, since many go misdiagnosed.  Chiari malformation is a condition where the brain falls below the base of the skull, compressing the spinal cord and brain stem.  Rarely, does chiari travel alone.  Most people are also diagnosed with other conditions like: Syringomyelia, EDS, CranioCervical Instability, Tethered Cord Syndrome and much much more.  To date, there is NO CURE...only temporary treatments.  Many chiarians travel to NYC for treatment, however, this option isn't available to everyone.

We have other chiari events coming up, all gearing up for the 'Conquer Chiari Walk Across America' walk in Waterville on September 17th.  You can sign up to be a part of the walk by clicking here.
