Luke Bryan's newest album, Kill the Lights, has been certified platinum.

The news made an already-exciting weekend even better: Bryan learned of the album's certification as he was preparing for his tributes to Lionel Richie at the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala and the 2016 Grammy Awards.

Following its release in August, Kill the Lights debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard's Top Country Albums and all-genre Top 200 charts. It was Bryan's third consecutive No. 1 debut on the Top 200 and his sixth No. 1 album overall on the Top Country Albums chart. The record’s No. 1 debut on the Top 200 also marked the highest debut for a country album on that chart since Bryan’s own Crash My Party debuted at No. 1 in 2013.

Of the 13 songs on Kill the Lights, Bryan co-wrote six, including the title track. Other songwriters on the project, which was produced by Jeff and Jody Stevens, include Luke Laird, Ashley Gorley, Dallas DavidsonRodney Clawson, Rhett Atkins, Shane McAnally and Hillary Lindsey.

On Thursday (Feb. 18), Bryan will begin his 2016 Kill the Lights Tour. The album is available for download on iTunes.
