Maine Fireworks Revenue Higher Than Expected

America's birthday is only three days away and Mainers are buying fireworks far beyond projections. Fireworks became legal in Maine last year for the first time in 63 years and Maine residents are buying them up!Maine Revenue Services estimated that firework stores would generate about $120,000 a year in sales taxes. The state actually collected $380,000 in sales taxes. That translates to $7.6 million in sales.
