Maine Gas Prices Are Lower This Week

Gas prices across Maine and the country dropped as oil prices are at a four year low. The average for a gallon of gas in Maine dropped over seven per gallon this week, the statewide average is now $2.47 a gallon.

Nationally the prices dropped almost ten cents per gallon for an average of $2.57.

The big reason for the drop is the price of a barrel of oil dropped below $40 for the first time in four years.

The lowest reported gas price in Maine was from a gas station in Bangor at $2.21 per gallon.
