You probably have noticed that gas prices were down at your local gas station over this past week. Your eyes have not deceived you, according to the price-monitoring website gasbuddy.com, the average cost for a gallon of gas in Maine was down 3.3 cents per gallon this past week.

The statewide average is now at $3.39 a gallon, national the average was down 2.5 cents per gallon to $3.30.

According to Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst, motorists should continue to see lower gas prices due to a drop in crude oil prices.

The lowest gas price in Maine was reported at a gas station in Bangor at $3.18 a gallon. Closer to home, a gas station is Monmouth was selling gas at $3.19 a gallon.

Missouri had an average statewide price under $3 a gallon at $2.99.
