Maine Gas Prices Drop

Maine gas prices are down a nickel over the past week to an average over just $3.51 a gallon. While that is good news, the cost of gas is about 12 cents higher than a year ago. Maine's average gas prices are just a penny higher than the national average.New Hampshire continues to have New England's lowest gas price at $3.45 a gallon. The lowest gas price in the nation is found in South Carolina with an average gallon costing $3.12.

Maine's lowest gas prices were found in Biddeford and in Newport.
