Gas prices in Maine are starting to go down as gasoline production continues to recover from hurricane Harvey and Irma.

The latest info from GasBuddy shows gas in Maine fell 4,4 cents to an average of $2.68. Most of New England is seeing the same with prices in New Hampshire falling 2.9 cents and Vermont down 2.8 cents.

The national average for gas fell 4.7 cents but is still 27 cents higher than a month ago and 40.4 cents higher than a year ago.

Pressherald.com says experts believe the price will continue to drop as refineries continue to get back online and summer travel is cooling off.
