Maine Gas Prices Inching Higher

Maine gas prices rose by just over a penny a gallon this past week to an average of $3.53 a gallon. That's according to the price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com, which surveys more than 1,200 Maine gas stations.Maine's gas prices are now 4 cents higher than the national average of $3.49 a gallon.

Maine's gas prices are now 9 cents higher a gallon than a year ago.

New Hampshire has the lowest gas prices in New England with a average gallon of gas at $3.45.

South Carolina has the country's lowest average gas price with a gallon costing $3.11.

The lowest gas price in Maine was found in Brewer with a gallon costing $3.34.
