Maine Gas Prices Up More Than 4 Cents This Week

Just as the daylight has been getting longer, gas prices keep getting higher. According to a price monitoring website Maine Gas Prices, the average retail cost of a gallon of gas in Maine rose more than four cents in the past week to $3.76Nationally the average price of a gallon of gas jumped almost six cents to an average of $3.55.

Maine gas prices have increased nearly 22 cents in the past month and are 12 cents higher than the same day a year ago.

The lowest average cost of a gallon of gas in the United States is in Wyoming, at $3.04.

The lowest prices in Maine were reported at two Lewiston gas stations at $3.51 a gallon.
