The heating season in Maine is underway and heating oil prices dropped this past week. The Governor's Energy Office reports that the average price of heating oil in Maine dropped three cents per gallon this week for a statewide average of $3.09.

Kerosene prices also dropped three cents a gallon for an average of $3.65. Propane prices held steady at $2.82. This was for the November 10th survey.

The average price for heating oil in Maine one year ago was $3.52 per gallon, kerosene prices last year were at $3.93 and propane was actually nine cents per gallon lower last year.
