Maine Heating Oil Prices Dropping As We Start November

Usually when the weather in Maine turns colder, heating oil prices go up. As we enter the month of November, heating oil prices in Maine have actually dropped.

The Governor's Energy Office weekly heating fuel price survey for the week of October 27, 2014 found the statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil was $3.16 per gallon, down 8 cents from the previous week.

Kerosene was also down statewide by 6 cents per gallon for an average of $3.73.

Propane prices dipped one cent per gallon for a statewide average of $2.83

Heating oil prices in Maine are 34 cents lower than they were in July.
