Maine Heating Oil Prices Lower This Month
The sound that homeowners do not like to hear, the furnace kicking in, the sound of money going up the chimney. It might be a good idea to fill up you tank now, prices in Maine dropped in August.
A Maine government survey says that the average price of heating oil dropped 6 cents a gallon from in July for an average of $3.39 per gallon.
The Governor’s Energy Office says that prices statewide vary quite a bit, as low as, $3.08 a gallon and as high as $3.87 per gallon.
Kerosene prices have also dropped an average of 4 cents per gallon to $3.87.
Propane prices in Maine were up an average of 3 cents per gallon from July to $2.85.
Heating oil and kerosene are both slightly cheaper this August than at this time last year, while propane is 25 cents per gallon more expensive.
