It's been pretty cold over the past few weeks and I know that my furnace has been kicking in way more than I would like, but the good news is that heating oil prices in Maine have dropped over the past week.

According to the Governor's Energy Office the average price according to the November 17 survey was $3.06 per gallon for #2 heating oil, that's down 3 cents per gallon from last week. Kerosene also dropped 3 cents per gallon for a statewide average of $3.62 per gallon.

It's not all good news, propane prices rose one cent to $2.83.

Heating Oil prices are 47 cents per gallon lower now than this time last year, kerosene is 32 cents lower and propane is 7 cents higher than one year ago.
