The ban on BPA (bisphenol A), a potentially hazardous chemical, may grow from bottles and sippy cups to food packaging. The state’s Board of Environmental Protection is talking about the potential expansion.

They did not vote, but the board said they're getting ready to decide whether the ban will be expanded to include the packaging of infant formula and baby and toddler food. Supporters have pushed to expand the ban to include material used to package the foods children eat. Maine's Board of Environmental Protection is expected to decide later in January whether to broaden the ban.

The whole debate of BPA is what prompted a comment from Governor Paul LePage in 2011 about "women getting little beards."  Remember that?
