Last week we told you that there was building pressure for the Skowhegan schools to stop using the Indian image and nickname as a sports mascot. Now Penobscot organizers want a planning session with school officials.

They want that planning session prior to a larger community discussion.

The Greater Bangor NAACP are also lobbying for the school to change it's mascot and nickname.

Meanwhile a Facebook page, 'Keep Skowhegan the Indians', was created a little over a week ago and has received over 3,100 likes.
