The Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic will be played at Thornton Academy in Saco this year. For the past 25 years the game has been played at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford.

The move is due to the fact that the bleachers at Waterhouse Field have been condemned. Once organizer’s found out about the problem they scrambled to secure a new location. Hill Stadium at Thornton Academy has hosted the Lobster Bowl before; the debut game was played at Thornton Academy in 1991.

Approximately 90 players from around the state will begin preparation for this year’s contest during a weeklong pregame camp to be held July 10-14 at Foxcroft Academy in Dover-Foxcroft.

According to bangordailynews.com the game this year is on Saturday, July 15.
