The Maine State Police are cracking down on seat belt violators. Troopers recently issued tickets for seat belt violations to 13 drivers while on patrol between Scarborough and Falmouth on Interstate 295.Police also spent over two hours on an Interstate 95 overpass in Hampden identifying drivers who were not buckled up and then radioed troopers on the interstate to pull over the violators.

17 drivers were cited and many others received warnings.

If you and your family are hitting the road this school vacation week, make sure you buckle up, it's a good habit to develop and it's the law!
