Believe it or not, summer is coming to Maine, and Mainers and tourists alike are getting some good news. A recent U.S. Energy Information Administration projection is showing that the national average summer gasoline price at $2.45 a gallon.

GasBuddy is predicting even lower prices this summer at $2.35 for a nationwide average.

This is from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

With lower gas prices, many are hoping that translates to more tourists visiting Maine this summer season. Maine recorded almost 19 million trips on the Maine Turnpike last June, July and August in 2014.
