Maine veteran Thomas Ewing celebrated his 100th birthday on July 5th. Ewing is a retired master sergeant who served both in World Wad ll and the Korean War.

The retired E-8 lives at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Scarborough and was surrounded by dozens of people to help him celebrate. Governor Paul LePage  gave him a governor’s coin and pin of the State of Maine and Senator Angus King was also on hand.

Ewing’s grand son, Tom Lynch said his grandfather has been through a lot being in  two wars and working since he was 12 years old and it meant a lot to see everyone come to celebrate his birthday.
