There have been a lot of reported sightings of the brown ‘stink bug.’

Entomologist Karen Coluzzi with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry tells bangordailynews.com there have been reported sightings of the bug which means some have become a fixture in the state.

On usnews.com Coluzzi says the bugs could make their way into our homes as the colder weather starts setting in. The bugs don’t bite or cause a rash but they do release a very unpleasant smell if they are disturbed or squashed.

The EPA says to get rid of the bugs you can vacuum but it may make your vacuum stick for a while.
