Maksim Chmerkovskiy May Not Dance on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ This Season
ABC has declined to comment and there has not been an official announcement, but it looks like Maksim Chmerkovskiy will not be on Dancing with the Stars this season. A Ukrainian ballroom dancer who joined the show in Season 2 told producers he would not return for another season. Chmerkovskiy has never won the competition but finished second twice, in Season 5 with Mel B and Season 12 with Kirstie Alley. He has taken a season off before and returned, and does have a contract that runs through 2015, which he has said he would honor. Whether he honors this contract or not, he said he would not re-sign after 2015, he says the show will be in good hands. The new contestants will be announced Tuesday, February 26, on Good Morning America.
