Two years ago, a 25-year-old man from Afghanistan sought help from doctors in Germany because he had headaches for years and his vision began to worsen in one eye. Turns out the man had spent 15 years with a pencil lodged in his head. The man had no idea how the pencil got there stating he does remember falling as a child.

Doctors removed the pencil, which was 4 inches long and the man has recovered. The reason his vision was going bad in one eye was because the pencil was lodged from his sinus to his pharynx and injured his eye socket. Although the operation occurred in 2011 the case was presented for the first time this year.
